Every year, more than $80 billion of free money for college is given to deserving students by either the federal government or hundreds of private foundations. Free money for college comes from taxes and donations from private sources such as large corporations, private employers, professional associations, educational and religious institutions to name few. They give free college scholarships because they can use the donations as a tax deduction, and would rather give money to deserving scholars instead of giving it to the government.
Who can apply for free college scholarships?
Some college scholarships are awarded based on financial needs, academic characteristics and your personal background. For example, scholarships are available for children of military men and women. There are also special scholarships available to women and minorities.
There are many college scholarships that are awarded to many different students. Some scholarships are even unique, or weird scholarships available to student on an annual basis. You do not have to be an athlete or a geek to get a scholarship awarded. Some scholarships are easy scholarships to apply to. There is absolutely no reason why you can not be approved for one, unless you are procrastinating.
